Think Vintage! Vintage and Handmade Fair

Things have been busy preparing for my latest craft fair so I'm so sorry but I find myself telling you guys all about it after the event.

The second Think Vintage! Vintage and Handmade Fair was last Saturday at Madcap in Wolverton, MK.

I shared my stall with my friend Liz who runs Tailor Baked. Her cupcakes went in no time and she was home by lunchtime leaving me with plenty of room to stretch out my latest line 'Say it with Stitches.'

A lovely day was had by all and I'll now be adding more stock to my Folksy store this week so check it out!

Custom Orders

It's great to be creating new pieces, but I always love it when someone approaches me to make something just for them.
My best friend Helen has been helping me out over the past few months by donating pre-loved jewellery and other items for me to craft into something new so when she asked me if I would also make her a custom piece I just couldn't say no.
Helen gave me the large star suncatcher to make into something she could hang in the window of her new place - the rest was up to me. Alas after a battering from my son the crystal that Helen had kept for so long was not what it once was, but I still wanted it to sparkle. As an extra thank you, and to make up for the damage to the other star, I decided to make this pair.
I thought about the colours and beads to use, thinking that what was needed was something that would also sparkle and catch the light. Helen was really pleased with them, so it's been a great creation all round.
So if you have a project that you've been thinking about for a while and just need someone to execute it, why not get in touch? I would love to make your ideas a reality.

Say it with stitches...

New for 2011 I've been doing more homewares and my next line is now here - Say it with Stitches.

Each pieces is hand stitched by me and totally unique. I will be using the same words for mulitple designs but each one is like handwriting, so no two are the same. I'll also be mixing it up with different fabrics and stitching techniques to keep each piece fresh.

All pieces come mounted, ready to be framed and hung by you.

If you have some special words you would like to have immortalised in stitches then get in touch. I'm taking orders for those special song lyrics, your child's name, a phrase that means something to a close friend and I can customise each canvas in the colours/fabric of your choosing.

Check out my Folksy shop for new listings in the next week from this range.

New in 2011

New Year and lots of new things happening for jake and jasper. It's great to have you all along for the ride.

First up there will be, hopefully, more blogging! I've decided that I want to share a bit more of what I'm up to, when I've had a great crafting session, where to find my stall and so I am becoming more committed to updating the blog and website regularly.

Secondly, new lines! I've been really inspired by homewares recently, perhaps I've started a new phase of nesting in my new place or it's just a homebody vibe but it has made me think of finishing touches and favourite mugs. This is moving into my work so expect to see some wholesome cross stitch projects and personalised and inscribed mugs for starters.

And so, for today, I present to you a pic of the fruits of tonight's crafting session. Through my fog of tears as I listened to Nigel's funeral on The Archers Omnibus I've been stringing new chains for these lovely charms so that they can find a new home at my next fair.
